Il Knight of Italy, is a markedly black and white shorebird with extremely long pinkish red legs, beak up and straight which frequents shallow waters. For the first time it is wintering, that is, spending the winter, in the Marche region and precisely in Montelupone in an artificial lake designed for hunting waterfowl.
Recall that the Knight of Italy it is not a huntable species and was able to spend the winter in this artificial lake cared for and managed by hunters who have restored a small wet area along the valley of the Power river, also giving the possibility to many palmipeds and waders to be able to stop during the migration and wintering. In particular, the Cavaliere D'Italia needs rather shallow waters where the surrounding environment must be constantly cleaned of weeds.
Thanks from the Provincial Section of Macerata to its members in Montelupone that with a considerable economic effort and a lot of work, have allowed the restoration and maintenance of this small wet area allowing this magnificent bird to overwinter in complete tranquility in the Province of Macerata (Hunting Federation).
