Mauro Febbo, regional councilor and president of the Supervisory Commission ofAbruzzo, is back to talking about hunting, launching very specific accusations to the Councilor for Agriculture, Dino Pepe. In particular, this time the attention was focused on the modalities of wild boar hunting and on the closure of the woodcock hunting in the Sites of Community Interest and in the Special Protection Areas. According to Febbo, Pepe is making fun of the mayors of Abruzzo, especially those of Sangro.
In the SIC and in the SPAs, wild boars can be caught with the so-called manhole covers or culled by fixed posting, while the hunt was excluded. This prohibition represents the exact opposite of what was requested and promised to the very first citizens, without forgetting that the dogs will be exploited exclusively for the turn.
Febbo also did not like the limitation of the control of ungulates in the agricultural lands identified on the land use map. The hunters will in fact be forced to turn with a map in hand to understand if the land is intended for agriculture or not. The chairman of the Supervisory Commission recalled Pepe's statements regarding a a regional law to implement the requests of the mayors, a proposal that did not correspond to reality.
