"According to current legislation, the Abruzzo region he should approve the hunting calendar by June 15: we are at July 25 and the discussion phase has not been completed; other Regions have long since sent the request for an opinion to Ispra (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research), the opinion that the hunting calendar is mandatory, while the Abruzzo Region has done so only recently ".
Thus, in a note, the WWF Abruzzo, which in recent weeks has submitted comments to the first draft of hunting calendar 2022/2023 of the Abruzzo Region, also highlights other critical issues relating to the management of the approval process. As every year, the Association has highlighted several problems in the hunting planning, making their requests such as: “The general opening of the hunting season on 1st October without exceptions and pre-opening days; the closure of hunting for all bird species on 31 December; the suspension of rock partridge hunting; greater attention to the areas where the Marsican brown bear is present; the request to also recall in the calendar the national regulations that provide for the ban on hunting in areas affected by fires and for the abandonment of cartridges ".
“This way of doing - it is highlighted - appears as an attempt by the Region of make the actions of associations for environmental protection more difficult, extending the approval times and reducing the time needed to produce a possible appeal to the Regional Administrative Court ".
