Hunting: Abruzzo, the regional council approves the extension of the wood pigeon hunt until 10 February 2014 proposed by the councilor Febbo.
The wood pigeon hunt has been extended until 10 February, in the provinces of Teramo, Pescara and Chieti. The provision is contained in a resolution, proposed by the councilor with responsibility for hunting, Mauro Febbo, approved by the regional council during today's session. “The extension - explains Febbo - was granted at the request of the Provinces, with the favorable opinion of Ispra. The collection of the species is possible only in the form of a fixed or temporary posting without the help of the dog. Wood pigeon hunting remains prohibited in four sites of community importance in the Province of Chieti.
Hunters not resident in the provinces where hunting has been prolonged - adds Febbo - can only collect the species if the hunting period coincides with that established by the calendars approved by the provinces or regions of origin ".
Finally, the councilor for hunting recalls that “there are several initiatives taken by the councilor since he took office, aimed at a correct technical-scientific management of hunting. Initiatives that until its establishment were never activated and that today allow the hunting world to exercise the hunting activity in the certainty of the law ".
