Il Regional Natural Park of the Apuan Alps has organized, as happens every year, the census of mouflons. This activity began in 2002, also because the animal has adapted very well to the area and the number of heads has increased steadily. As reported by La Nazione, volunteers are also needed for this important count that concerns a rather large part of Tuscany. The mouflon first appeared in the park in the early XNUMXs, a motivated introduction just for hunting purposes.
The observations of the park rangers will be two, namely at sunset on Friday 14 October 2016 and at dawn on Saturday 15 October. The areas chosen are those of the maritime slopes of Monte Corchia and Pania della Croce. There will also be a lesson of the same Park guard and then we can start the census together.
During the love season, these wild animals can also be encountered in groups. Moreover, you can also stop in the area. In fact, those who intend to stay overnight can do so at the Cai “Del Freo” refuge in Mosceta with a lot of dinner.
