Caccia, Berlato attacks "wrong resolution" FROM TODAY SHOOT? IN DEROGATION ?. The PDL against the commissioner of the League.
Off to hunting in derogation from today - yesterday the resolution of the Region was made official - but in the meantime there are shots between the MEP Sergio Berlato and the councilor for hunting Daniele Stival. Berlato, who had already accused Stival of errors in introducing "unnecessary restrictions" in the hunting calendar for the Veneto, now accuses the commissioner of having made a mistake in the resolution that gives the green light to hunting in derogation of six species of birds.
"Demonstrated his inability to find a political mediation with the opposition in the Regional Council, which always happened in the Region from 2002 to 2008 - accuses Berlato - Councilor Stival stubbornly continues to want to try his hand at extravagant inventions". In practice, Berlato did not limit himself to re-proposing the text of the resolution passed last year by his predecessor, the commissioner Elena Donazzan: a resolution "which, after a temporary suspension, obtained approval on the merits by the Tar del Veneto which, in mid-December 2009, positively judged its contents, considering them completely legitimate ».
Instead, the text of the Stival resolution is different: what sense does it make, asks Berlato, to have inserted "the prispolone, which in this period has already left the territories of the Veneto to migrate to warmer places?".
Not only that: Berlato accuses Stival of "having wanted to halve the seasonal game bag (another incomprehensible nonsense), instead of keeping the species hunted in previous years". The TAR would have "struggled, this year, to deny itself, while, with a different resolution, the judges will have a good game in suspending its effectiveness and with it the hunting of all species in derogation." But Berlato also shoots at Lega (and Federcaccia), because he emphasizes that Stival makes no secret of his intolerance towards the subject of hunting and therefore the error was made by his "prompters".
The councilor Gianpiero Possamai (Lega) was satisfied with the go-ahead for hunting also starlings, finches, brambles, frosoni, pipit and prispoloni. "This provision allows hunters to exercise their passion and does not in any way affect the migratory population because the levy is contingent.
Therefore the criticisms of the environmentalist world are unjust and unjustified ». Hunting "has always existed and it is important that it be maintained and safeguarded so as not to waste a capital of rural culture that has been handed down for generations".
