Il Italian Hunting Union he asked the Campania region the establishment of a Wildlife Observatory in the regional territory: the association took its cue from article 16 of the regional statute (Petitions, votes, petitions and requests) and from article 119 of the Implementing Regulation. According to the point of view of the IVS, the Observatory would have the function of collecting and processing with precision data concerning wildlife.
Furthermore, it would be possible to express a series of opinions and suggestions regarding wildlife management. A body of this type does not yet exist in Campania, consequently the Union believes that it is not possible to wait any longer before such an important institution. In other Italian regions it already exists and avoids appeals, suspensions and anticipations of the closure of hunting samplings: putting aside all these dies, hunters have the opportunity to collect certain species even in February.
SVI recalled how it is the intention of the hunting world itself pursue hunting in the name of sustainability and in compliance with the legislative deadlines, avoiding any media attack and the data invented at the table to lash out at the hunters. The Campania Observatory could promote research to collect and process the wildlife information according to the directives provided by ISPRA. The petition has just been filed and a response from the Region is now awaited.
