Sunday 14 February 2016 will be a very important date for theNational Union of Hunters and Falconers: it is in fact the day chosen for a regional meeting of the association, specifically, the appointment was set at 9:30 at the "Tenuta Bellavista Insuense" hunting farm in the locality Guasticce (province of Livorno). The event was organized in collaboration with the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters and aims to gather all the hunting associations that are present in the area. UNCF Tuscany also said it was sure of the fact that the participation will be numerous, underlining how the meeting is open to all.
There are no competitions or awards ceremonies, but the enthusiasts and the curious of the practice of falconry will surely find bread for their teeth. After the meeting, the program will continue with the inscriptions, the control of documents (specifically the hunting license and insurance coverage) and with the preparation of flight shifts to be carried out on site. Every single falconer will have the opportunity to participate with his auxiliary and hawk on releases: the maximum duration of the flight shift in question cannot exceed fifteen minutes.
It is also worth remembering that, in the event that the hawk does not capture, then the falconer in the field will have the obligation to call the bird to the worn out and return. The main prohibition that must be respected is that relating to the use of live decoys limited in any way in movement: the falconer who will carry out these prohibited behaviors may be sanctioned according to the provisions of the law. There is a possibility to carry out more flights by the same participant, but everything will be evaluated on Sunday in the field and based on the total number of falconers.
The price of each single head of game is 10 euros. At the end of the regional meeting, then, there will be a dinner. The choice of fifteen minutes as the maximum time for the flight shift essentially depends on the willingness to involve all the falconers so that everyone can have the same hours of light. A possible second round, therefore, will be possible in the early afternoon or at least before darkness falls. All participants are obviously invited, as always happens on these occasions, to hold correct behavior, especially not to disturb falconers and hawks, so as to avoid unpleasant accidents. For organizational purposes it is necessary to communicate one's presence at the meeting so that the UNCF Toscana can manage everything in the best possible way.
