Enter the green of ours Mount Epomeo and get lost. Here is what happened to two young girls who, after lunch, walked along some of them internal paths of Monte Epomeo. After a few meters, the two girls from Pescara lost their orientation and, above all, lost sight of the path. Fortunately the telephone signal was strong and they were able to contact the police who promptly took action to search. The men coordinated by the Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ferrara immediately initiated the necessary procedures to find the girls who, frightened, could not find their way back.
A race against time, to prevent the girls from being in the woods at sunset, which would have made recovery even more difficult. given the difficulty of patrolling the internal area of the island, requested the immediate help of numerous other patrols and contacted Emilio Galano, head of the Arcicaccia guards, and the Coordinator of firefighting volunteers Pasquale Mattera and his son Salvatore, who are profound connoisseurs of the places.
Thanks to the immediate intervention of Mattera and Galano within a few hours the two girls were found and taken to the police station and then to the hotel. The two girls, very happy for the good end of the mishap, warmly thanked their rescuers (Source: Arch Hunting).
