Variation proposal
“With satisfaction I can say that today in the Agriculture Commission we averted the approval of a proposed amendment to the law on wildlife presented by the Five Star Movement”.
Compact majority
Thus the deputy of the League Francesco Bruzzone, who continues: “The initiative of five stars, repeated in several amendments, was aimed at making the mouse a protected species, as well as attempting to make rats, moles and otters also non-killable animals". “Fortunately the majority was very united and we managed to stop yet another Grillina madness in this area”.
Unbridled animalism
“The M5S amendment, if approved, would have blocked all rat suppression activities, starting with the rodent control work carried out by all Italian municipalities. Sometimes unbridled animalism can lead to disastrous consequences. Today, however – concludes Bruzzone – common sense prevailed and the proposal signed by the M5S group leader in the agriculture commission as well as by the former minister Sergio Costa to protect mice in Italy did not pass”.
