Marco DeFerrari (ilBuonsenso) presented a question, signed by group colleague Alice Salvatore, in which he asked the regional council of the Liguria, as a consequence of the note of the Minister of the Environment, of 28 May last, to exclude from the hunting calendar of the Region 2020/2021 the species Lapwing and Pochard. The councilor recalled that on 17 October 2019, the TAR accepted a large part of the appeal presented by Lac, Enpa, Wwf and Lav, challenging the resolution of the Region on the rules of the 2019-2020 hunting calendar, also prohibiting the Pochard and Lapwing hunting and that on 19 June 2019 the European Commission had made it known to the Member States that the conservation status of 9 species including Lapwing and Pochard.
The commissioner for hunting Stefano Mai recalled that in the next hunting season 2020/2021 «the species in question are not excluded from the hunting calendar as the provision was approved, after having acquired the estimate of theHigher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) that, with regard to the Lapwing and Pochard species, with an opinion of 15 April last stated that the hunting pressure does not appear to be a major critical factor for the two species and, therefore, ISPRA has decided to do not request suspension of the hunting of the two species in the 2020/2021 calendars ".
