Barbara Mazzali, Lombardy regional councilor for the Brothers of Italy, announced the presentation of a motion and a bill which closely relate to the hunting activity. The motion refers to invasive species, increasingly invasive: the goal is to commit the regional council to change course in the identification of more effective tools to combat the imbalance. As Mazzali pointed out, we are not talking simply about hunting, but about safeguarding the territory and helping farmers.
The motion also calls for effective otter eradication plans and other harmful pests. All these animals are a real threat to biodiversity and eradication is being considered at European level the best intervention ever. The PDL, on the other hand, was designed to protect and promote the falconry, not long recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The project distinguishes the figure of the keeper from that of the falconer: the first is the one who owns the falcon but does not hunt. Both figures they must be in compliance with the laws currently in forceFurthermore, the PDL is used to authorize the Lombardy Region and the Province of Sondrio to establish specific areas in which to train and train the falcons.
