For 48 hours there had been no news of Frank Gussoni, the 69-year-old former mayor of Pontremoli and president of the Province of Massa Carrara, but the affair ended positively. The man was found almost two days later in Vignola thanks to the intuition of one hunting team, number 47 of Bassone. Many mobilized for the research, including the Civil Protection, the Alpine Rescue, speleologists, the Fire Brigade and dog groups.
The operations were complex to say the least, given that the territory of the last sighting has one particular morphology. The identification of Gussoni was possible thanks to the hunters who then brought the 69-year-old back home. His health conditions would be fair. Thanks from the community went to this hunting team that took its cue from the track of the Dog Groups, then the in-depth knowledge of the territory made the difference.
The discovery took place at dawn. This news story demonstrates the importance of the hunting world in the social sphere. Often we tend to trivialize the role of hunters, but the effort made to protect the environment and help everyone is undeniable citizens in difficulty.
