The association ANUUMigrators he recalled how they passed 40 years from the approval of the functioning of the ornithological observatories and of the points of ringing of Lombardy. The green light from the Regional Council in 1978 it was the result of patient work, taking its cue from the directives of what was not yet called ISPRA. The ANUU underlined how Lombardy was the Region that was the first to understand the importance of studies in support of hunting.
Rereading today the resolution of four decades ago we understand how the local authority has understood the strategic role of studies on the subject, also through annual reports which are taken care of efficiently. The synthesis of all this was a document that is now being used as a valuable tool for research. Among the main ideas can be mentioned the analysis on the province of Como (just from 1978), the activity of the FEIN Ornithological Observatory (European Foundation Il Nibbio) in Arosio, which a few months ago managed to ring the bird number 210 thousand.
It was a redwing and at the end of 2017 it exceeded 214 thousand specimens. The hope of the association is that Lombardy can repeat what has just been described, perhaps opening a new story as far as the people and the hunting traditions are concerned.
