Andrew DiLucente, regional councilor of Molise, met with hunters to address urgent hunting issues. The members ofANUUMigrators took part in the eighth edition of the Feast of the Hunter of Montedimezzo, in the province of Isernia, and the invitation had been extended to the councilor himself. Environmental issues and the reserve management they dominated the debates. Di Lucente was instructed to act as an intermediary with the competent councilor and the comparison was really constructive.
As reported by the hunting association, the main problem for Molise is that of wild boar hunting. Important changes should be made, taking into account the fact that the wild population is increasingly numerous in the woods. The impact on the agricultural sector is significant, without forgetting the road accidents and the safety of citizens. The debate served to ask for an important revision of the hunting calendar for the 2018-2019 season.
The ANUU proposal is to start the collection of wild boars next October 1st and not 15th as currently expected. The actual hunting days would still be 36, unless the weather conditions reduce the total. Now Di Lucente will have to discuss with theRegional Department of Agriculture to get two more weeks of hunting, a result that would be welcomed with great enthusiasm.
