Venetian Hunters Association: Belluno, the animal rights activists of "Centorpercentoanimalisti "were convicted of defamation by the Justice of the Peace for the events that occurred at the Longarone Fair in 2013.
The Justice of the Peace of Belluno condemned the exponents of the Centopercentoanimalisti organization for defamation following the episodes that sadly saw them as protagonists during a trade fair on the hunting held in Longarone in May 2013. During that event, a small group of animal rights activists staged a sit-in protest during which they indulged in serious offenses against hunters who entered the fair and in particular against the 'on. Sergio Berlato and Maria Cristina Caretta, considered by animal rights activists as their main enemies. Following the crimes committed by animal rights activists, the Hon. Sergio Berlato, Maria Cristina Caretta and Gianni Capraro, managers of the Associazione Cacciatori Veneti-CONFAVI, proceeded to present a formal complaint against the perpetrators of the disputed crimes, as had been done on several other occasions in which animal rights activists, instead of limiting themselves to express their dissent towards hunting, they indulged in gratuitous offenses and threats against hunters and their families.
"We do not go into the merits of everyone's right to be able to demonstrate in a democratic and respectful way their dissent for an activity they do not share - commented Maria Cristina Caretta, President of the Associazione Cacciatori Veneti-CONFAVI, - but quite another thing is to offend for free or, worse, to threaten honest citizens with a perfectly clean criminal record who rightly claim to exercise an activity that is regularly permitted all over the world and strictly regulated by the Community and national laws in force ".
The justice of the peace of Belluno, for the crimes committed by animal rights activists, sentenced them to a fine of 800 euros each and to compensation to the Hon. Sergio Berlato and the President Maria Cristina for a total of 5.000 euros, legal costs of 3.000 euros. Hon. Sergio Berlato and President Maria Cristina Caretta have already announced that they will totally donate the amount of the compensation to charity.
In anticipation of the fair event Vicenza HIT Show, conceived first of all by the Associazione Cacciatori Veneti-CONFAVI, the Hon. Sergio Berlato and President Maria Cristina Caretta asked for a meeting with the Vicenza Police Headquarters to ask that the pathetic demonstration that every year sees a group of animal rights activists demonstrate in a rude way and with illegal behavior, be prohibited or prevented from offending these mobsters. and threaten the tens of thousands of visitors to the fair who, by paying the ticket, ask the institutions to be protected in their right to have access, without being offended or threatened, to what has become one of the most important sector events at European level .
“In these days we will also ask for a meeting with the Prosecutor of Vicenza - commented the Hon. Sergio Berlato - to ask that the complaints presented each year by the undersigned and by the President Maria Cristina Caretta against animal rights activists who have distinguished themselves at each demonstration for their rudeness, for their arrogance and for their verbal violence be followed up. The Justice of the Peace of Belluno has shown that, if you want, justice in Italy can still triumph ”.
