The Abruzzo regional section of the Copagri (Confederation of Agricultural Producers) has returned to raise her voice in the hunting arena. After the intervention of the local Federcaccia regarding the closure of the sampling of thrushes, woodcocks and cesene, the Abruzzo region is once again in the eye of the storm. The president of Copagri Abruzzo, Camillo D'Amico, recalled as the sit-in organized by the CIA and Confagricoltura in front of the headquarters of the Regional Council served to protest against the accumulated delays in reimbursements for the damage to crops.
The number of wild boars and ungulates in the area is very high and the issue obviously also concerns agricultural producers. The initiative was therefore appreciated by Copagri, worried about the delays that are affecting the work to modify the current regulation for the containment of wild animals.
The Regional Council is called to give concrete answers to the agricultural sector, further recognizing its economic and social importance: according to the association, however, this recognition has remained firm in words. Discussions about the changes are still standing in Agriculture, Hunting and Fishing Commission, but D'Amico explained how there is still some patience left, although it could soon turn into despair.
