ANLC - Pisa: Hunters' strong dissatisfaction with the hunting policy undertaken by the government and in particular by Minister Brambilla.
As the provincial president of free hunting I must congratulate all the hunters for the important role they played in the political defeat suffered by the government in the last elections.
The free hunt, despite being an apolitical association, had already for some time taken a clear position towards the majority which, contrary to the promises made, proved to be anti-hunt.
The undersigned himself, a few months ago, with an open letter to President Berlusconi had denounced the strong discontent of hunters with the hunting policy undertaken by the government and in particular by Minister Brambilla, coming to abandon the party in which he had been active since the years of its foundation.
We hunters belonging to the Free Hunting are inextricably linked to our passion so much that political ideology is overshadowed.
We felt seduced and abandoned by a party that many of us had chosen precisely because of the promises made by in favor of hunting and hunters.
The strong disappointment and bitterness of feeling cheated has prompted many hunters to intervene in the last campaign for the local elections in order to give a lesson in fairness and honesty to a majority that proved ungrateful.
We can proudly say that in the defeat of the PDL these days, the hunting world has shown that it is there and that it can fight for its passion by playing an important role in a collapse that has long been announced.
The reminders, the pleading letters, the prayers of all those who, like myself, repeatedly asked for promises and announced changes to law 157/92. The government has turned a deaf ear and has exclusively carried out interventions aimed at penalizing hunters above all "thanks" to Minister Brambilla and his anti-hunt bragging rights.
It seems that no one has explained to her that the role of a minister is to be super partes and that the hunters had contributed significantly to the victory of her political party and consequently to her own election.
Never before, apart from tangentopoli, had we seen a person who alone had been able to make his party lose so many consensus, without bringing even one of his animal rights friends who almost entirely vote to the left. I hope that both Minister Brambilla and President Berlusconi have realized that in a few days and with few declarations, as well as many votes, they have also burned our trust and our hopes.
President Berlusconi must not waste time at this point. The resignation of the Minister of Tourism is immediately necessary, which among other things close to the municipal elections of Siena with her unprecedented and insane declarations against the Palio, contributed heavily to the defeat of the party and of the good Nannini.
Then, once the Minister has been sent home, it will be important to immediately carry out the DPCM with the inclusion of the Starling and finch among the huntable species, immediately exhume the Bears law (amendment to 157/92) and finally the very fast approval of all the package.
I would also like to remind all those who might consider these proposals and considerations futile in relation to the low political weight attributed to hunting, that it was the hunting world that invented the non-vote in referendums, making sure that of the 24, both national and regional, called until today, the environmentalists have not managed to win even one.
The above demonstrates that the hunting world, when it moves together, is still a force.
The undersigned as Provincial President of the Free Hunt, hopes that all political forces will meditate on what has happened, solving the countless problems that afflict our world.
We want to remind politicians, who increasingly seem to have forgotten this, what it means to have a passion to believe in and to fight for.
La Libera Caccia is and will always be ready to recognize friendship and trust in political groups that will be able to prove themselves as supporters of our passion, regardless of the side. For us there is neither right nor left, our heart is with hunting and with those who know how to recognize the role and respect it deserves.
