Anti-hunt misinformation: Bologna, identified as an animal poisoner, according to some he is a "deviated hunter".
Below we publish the article that appeared in the online newspaper Bologna2000 concerning the outcome of the investigations into the killing of numerous animals in the countryside of the lower Bologna area, using poisoned morsels and other bloody methods, which led to the identification of the suspected perpetrator of the killings. "It had been months that in the countryside of the municipalities of the" Reno Galliera "Union, in particular along the river Reno from Castel Maggiore to Castello d'Argile, there were repeated findings of wild animals or animals killed by strangling laces and deceased or suffering from having ingested poisoned morsels. Dozens of complaints received from the Carabinieri, the Provincial and Municipal Police of the area from the owners of dogs poisoned by bait scattered along the fields ”.
The first investigations carried out in collaboration with the Provincial Police and with the Voluntary Ecological Guards have led to focus attention on a "deviant" component of the hunting world: some hunters, fortunately only a small part, believe some animals to be a sort of antagonists for their passion, among these foxes and other predatory animals that can feed on potential prey of hunters, but also pets, such as dogs or cats, which, although not by their very nature vocational predators, due to the fact that they roam the countryside or are taken there for a walk by their owners, they can represent a “nuisance” for wildlife and therefore can remove any objectives of the hunting action.
In recent times, reports from citizens of the area had increased about a male person who was driving a moped along the bank of the river Reno with suspicion. The stalking, also conducted in collaboration with voluntary ecological guards, made it possible to identify this subject along the fields near the Reno river, in the Malacappa locality of the Municipality of Argelato.
The latter, identified as CM, a sixty-six-year-old pensioner residing in Funo di Argelato, was found in possession of some skeins of multi-wire cable, one of which was stealthily abandoned just before the check, as well as the tools necessary to work the multi-wire. This cable was completely identical in size and characteristics to the one normally used for the construction of strangling laces, found over the years in countless circumstances by ecological guards or by Provincial Police personnel in various municipalities in the district.
In agreement with the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Bologna, the search was extended to the suspect's home, where it was possible to find, kept in the garage, a few dozen containers with first-class pesticides and other toxic and poisonous substances inside, for a total weight of several tens of kilos, for some of which the purchase and possession require special authorization, including some attributable to the active ingredient "carbofuran", often used to "package" poisoned morsels, as well as a significant amount of meat in putrefaction, potentially useful for the realization of the baits in which to insert the poisoning substances.
The material found has been seized: investigations are currently underway coordinated by the deputy prosecutor of the Bolognese Public Prosecutor, Dr. Augusto Borghini, aimed above all at fully collecting the substances found in the availability of the CM and subsequently comparing them with those contained in the baits that have recently led to death. of two dogs and the poisoning of a third in the municipality of Argelato, on which specific tests were conducted at the time.
Several people were also heard able to report circumstances useful for the purposes of the investigation, whose statements are currently being examined by investigators. The CM was denounced for various types of hunting offenses, as well as for the continued attempted killing of animals, pending the ongoing investigations to shed further light on the matter.
The Single Municipal Police Corps of the "Reno Galliera" Union, directed by Commander Massimiliano Galloni, operates on the territories of the eight associated municipalities: Argelato, Bentivoglio, Castello d'Argile, Castel Maggiore, Galliera, Pieve di Cento, San Giorgio di Piano and San Pietro in Casale. "
Any comment on the pro-anti-hunt suppositions regarding the motivations of this criminal's gesture, as well as on the presumption of his belonging to the category of Hunters, would be considered superfluous !!!
