A few hours from the start of the hunting season 2016-2017, The Tuscan Regional Authority officially communicated the new and latest version of the calendar, approved by the Executive on 30 August. The text was essentially inspired by three rules, namely the Regional Law 20 of 2002 (“Hunting calendar and amendments to Regional Law 3/1994”), the resolution of the Regional Council 752 of 2016 and the proposed resolution of this year.
There are several changes made two days ago, so it is worth understanding what awaits the Tuscan hunters. First of all, in article 7 (that relating to hunting periods and huntable species) refers to the period from 1 October 2016 to 31 January 2017 as regards the hunting woodcock, cesena and redwing. The woodcock hunt, in particular, will be allowed only in wandering form and with the help of the pointing or hunting dog. From 1 January, then, this hunting will be allowed only in areas suitable for wild boar.
Throughout the next month of January, then, the use of the retriever dog will be allowed for hunting from stalking (fixed or temporary). There is no lack of references to hunting card and the need to record resident and migratory wildlife immediately after their killing. There are also days to be respected in relation to the wandering hunt. Throughout January 2017, regardless of whether or not the dog is used, the activity in question will take place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Mondays and Thursdays, on the other hand, will be days for hunting migratory stalking.
