The Arci Caccia festival in Valpiana was a success. "The hunter? A nobleman!"And in Valpiana di Massa Marittima, on the occasion of the Festa dell'Arci Caccia, organized from 3 to 6 July, by the provincial federation and the municipal club, the veterinary hunters over seventy years old in the district were given the right tribute of" nobleman "with an evening dedicated to them (Friday 4 July) and the delivery of diplomas to symbolically recognize “a life of love for hunting, in the heart, in the head and in the legs ”. In the words spoken by Ivan Terrosi, president of the Massa Marittima club, Claudio Sozzi, president of the provincial Arci Caccia of Grosseto and Marco Ciarafoni, president of the National Council of the Arci Caccia, a community of citizens and hunters proud of to renew, historically and culturally, the values and traditions of life in our countryside. The four days of Valpiana have overall reaffirmed the role of hunting and hunters in the modern era and even more so in the time of the crisis when it is necessary to leave the territories again to look to the future with concreteness and confidence. “Hunting - underlined Claudio Sozzi and Marco Ciarafoni - accompanied by good management makes our landscapes more beautiful and richer in fauna, thus supporting the quality of life and production. The Valpiana festival offered many playful, gastronomic, entertainment and reflection options: from the dance evenings of the "Odissea 2001" dance school to the musical performances of the "I Velos" and "Mirello and his orchestra" groups, from national dog exhibition at the exhibition of impromptu poets. One of the key moments was the award ceremony of the dog events and in particular the championship for following dogs on wild boar and the one for hunting and still dogs. Together with Claudio Sozzi, Osvaldo Rossi, regional president of the Tuscan CSAA, took part in the awarding of the awards.
Among the winners Renzo Cittadini and Adriano Sgarbi, winners, respectively, of the provincial championship for dogs to be followed on wild boar single category and couples. Next appointment for the Arci Caccia, the Dog Festival in Bagno di Gavorrano from 25 July to 3 August.
