Arci Caccia Roma asks the Lazio Region for a quick response to the Hunting Calendar question and guidelines for opportunistic species and damage to agriculture.
“The apathy of the Lazio Region in hunting matters is reaching paradoxical levels and, moreover,“ contra-legem ”: this is what Andrea Severi, president of the Arcicaccia of the province of Rome declares. “The delay in the launch and publication of the hunting calendar is yet another proof of an institutional and political“ stalemate ”in the current regional administration.
"A delay that is assuming - declares Andrea Severi - year after year the connotations of a farce, making the certainty of the law that the national law establishes when it provides for the publication of the hunting calendar no later than June 15".
"We hope that together with the urgent resolution of the hunting calendar problem, the commissioner Birindelli (also an expression of a territory with a strong rural and hunting vocation) will present guidelines and action plan to give concrete answers to the rampant presence of some opportunist species present on the regional territory that endanger public health and the delicate balance of fauna and cause serious damage to agricultural crops. For this reason, we ask that a technical table be convened, with the indispensable presence of agricultural professional organizations, which for some time have been recalling the need for containment plans in derogation for opportunistic species and beyond ".
