Last week the governor of the Lazio region, Nicola Zingaretti, made the official ban on hunting in the municipalities of Amatrice and Accumoli due to the terrible earthquake of 24 August. The decision was made to facilitate rescue operations and not create any kind of obstacle. The members ofTerritorial Area of Hunting Rieti 1, the one in which the two cities fall, however, have opposed and they organized a protest garrison, also asking for and obtaining a meeting with the Prefect.
The local hunting world wanted to emphasize above all the damage to the agricultural sector because of the wildlife, proposing that only the wild boar hunting. The LAV (Lega Anti Vivisection) recalled all these passages of the story in a press release, explaining how today - Thursday 13 October 2016 - there will be an important meeting of the Committee for Order and Public Safety which will discuss the possible resumption of the hunting of ungulates.
The Prefecture of Rieti has already agreed, but the animal rights association has turned to the same Prefect, Valter Crudo, to ask that the hunting ban be maintained for any species in Accumoli and Amatrice. In addition, the League has hoped that the measure is also extended to neighboring municipalities.
