Il ban on hunting in two of the municipalities most affected by the recent earthquake in Central Italy aroused the reaction of the hunters. The Lazio Region has established that for the entire 2016-2017 season it will not be possible to go hunting in the territories of Accumoli e Amateur, both in the province of Rieti. As reported by meteoweb, just this morning - Friday 7 October 2016 - it was decided to demonstrate with a garrison in front of the headquarters of the Prefecture of Rieti.
These are the members of the Territorial Area of Caccia Rieti 1 (precisely the one in which the two municipalities devastated by the earthquake of 24 August fall), opposed to the ruling of the governor Nicola Zingaretti. The controversy between hunting associations was immediate, also given that the ban was made official on the eve of the opening of the season, fhoisted on the calendar for tomorrow, Saturday 8 October. Lazio considered hunting an obstacle to surveillance and rescue operations. In particular, it was also explained that the rifles could hit the drones that control the areas of the earthquake.
