The containment plan for thecrows culling was suspended for an appeal to the TAR and the Coldiretti of Oristano writes to the regional councilors for the Environment and Agriculture denouncing the very serious damage to the agricultural sector, in particular to that of seasonal fruit, such as peaches, figs and plums. According to the agricultural federation, that of wild fauna in general and of the hooded crow in particular represents an age-old criticality, always followed by Coldiretti Oristano, who, over the years, it has repeatedly involved regional institutions to initiate initiatives to combat out-of-control populations.
“Past experiences have shown how a continuous and coordinated containment action has produced positive results; on the contrary, the suspension of activities - underline the president and director of Coldiretti Giovanni Murru and Emanuele Spanò - has produced devastating effects onlocal agriculture, with huge economic losses that have put Oristano companies in serious difficulty ”.
"We express deep concern also in consideration of the repercussions that this shortage will have on agricultural businesses, as well as in the immediate future, also in the near future - the two executives continue - to date, the prolonged absence of a containment plan causes an uncontrolled increase in the population of corvids, in fact alienating the efforts and money put in place up to now with the aim of limiting its diffusion ".
