Hunting: Umbria, the new Hunting Calendar valid for the 2015-2016 Hunting Season has been definitively approved by the Regional Council.
Three days of pre-opening of the season of hunting on Wednesday 2 (from 6.15 to 19.30) and on Sunday 6 and 13 September (in which the time allowed will be until 13), with the general opening to all species which remains fixed on the third Sunday of September, 20, with the exception of ungulates. This is what the Hunting calendar for the 2015/2016 season approved today by the Regional Council of Umbria, at the end of the participatory process in which the hunting, agricultural and environmental associations represented in the Regional Hunting Faunal Council were involved and after having acquired the opinions of Ispra, the Higher Institute for Protection and environmental research, and of the III Regional Council Commission competent on the subject. The choices made for the 2014/2015 season were confirmed in the calendar, motivating them from a regulatory and technical-scientific point of view on the basis of regional, national and EU legislation and the data collected in the scientific documents and databases of the Regional Wildlife Observatory. In particular, in consideration of the correct compliance with the national and community regulations in force, the closure of hunting for the species song thrush, cesena and woodcock for which in January the Government, making use of the extraordinary substitute power, had ordered the early closure in six regions.
In the days of pre-opening, hunting will be allowed only from stalking with teal, gargane, mallard, dove, blackbird, wood pigeon, hooded crow, jay and magpie; Sunday 13 will also be allowed to take the quail limited to the stubble with the help of the dog. For wild boar, hunting is open in the forms allowed from Saturday 3 October 2015 to Sunday 3 January 2016; the provincial administrations can arrange containment interventions on the days of September when hunting is allowed (Sunday 20, Wednesday 23, Saturday 26, Sunday 27 and Wednesday 30) and, in the event of failure to reach the number of animals provided for in the culling plan assigned to a district by the management plans drawn up by the ATC (Territorial hunting areas) also in the months of February and January, until the plan is completed. There wild boar driven hunt it is only allowed on beautiful days on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The provincial administrations can authorize selection hunting of fallow deer, roe deer, red deer and mouflon species from 21 June to 19 July, from 16 August to 4 October 2015, from 4 January to 13 March 2016. Training and training of dogs it is allowed from 16 to 31 August 2015, excluding Tuesdays and Fridays, and on 7, 9, 10, 14, 16 and 17 September. In order to protect the species with low consistency in the regional territory, for the next hunting season it is forbidden to hunt rock partridge. The Region has reserved the right to make any changes that may be necessary as a result of the approval of interregional agreements.
