It has been almost two months since we talked about the Sebino Torbiere Nature Reserve, an area that rises between the municipalities of Iseo, Provaglio d'Iseo and Corte Franca (in the province of Brescia). There has been debate for some time about the hunting from fixed position and this time it was decided to literally demobilize the huts. The floating ones will no longer be able to position themselves at only 400 meters, but at least one kilometer from the border of the Lamette. The decision was made in the last few hours and such a distance is practically impossible to respect.
Even if they were anchored to the bottom in the middle of Lake Iseo, however, would become a significant obstacle to navigation. The only huts that the three in front of the reeds between Clusane and Paratico will remain active and functioning, at an important distance from the peat bogs. The decision of the Regional Territorial Office of Brescia will certainly cause discussion.
Lake hunters learned about the news via registered mail and there will be appeals shortly, with a lawyer from the Italian Hunting Federation ready to take an interest in the case. In the vicinity of the Sebino peat bogs they have been present so far beyond 6400 huts, a real record for what concerns our country.
