During our North Dakota trip to hunting mallards with Muddy outdoor dog we experienced a wide variety of weather which forced us to always be regular in our hunting locations. There were also a large number of snow geese in this area capable of quickly providing sources of fresh food. Through our scouting we were able to identify the areas of pasture used by flocks of mallards of snow geese. The adaptation in duck hunting can be so drastic considering that you change the way of hunting between water areas and dry fields or in the way of placing the calls. To be successful you need to be open to change. It is very important to pay attention to camouflage when preparing the stakeout.
