Hunting for ducks: the Ministry of Health has lifted the ban on the use of live calls in the activity hunting previously imposed to prevent possible infections of avian flu.
We inform you that starting from today, March 30, 2015, the Ministry of Health has implemented the provisions revoking the ban on the use of live calls issued on December 23, 2014 with which it suspended "the derogation from the ban on the use of decoy birds belonging to the orders of the anseriformes and charadriformes in hunting ”. Live calls for the hunting for ducks and the lapwings are therefore again allowed. Below is the content of the provision of the Ministry of Health:
Subject: Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N8 - Revocation of extraordinary control and eradication measures to contain the possible spread of the avian influenza virus.
With reference to the subject, taking into account the epidemiological situation at present favorable and having heard the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of the Venezie seat of the National Reference Center for avian flu, the extraordinary measures adopted with managerial provision prot. 2012 of 28 January 2015 as amended and supplemented by the management provision prot. 3499 of February 12, 2015 containing: "H5N8 highly pathogenic avian influenza - amendments to the" Management measure prot.DGSAF n.2012 of January 28, 2015 ", as well as those relating to the suspension of the derogation from the ban on the use of live calls arranged with a DGSAF note prot. n. 27317 of 23 December 2014, are to be understood as revoked as of 30 March 2015.
We take the opportunity to ask these Departments to send to the writer the report on the activities carried out regarding the sample surveillance program on live recalls as defined in the DGSAF note prot. 23 of 8 January 2015 containing: “H5N8 highly pathogenic avian influenza - OM 8 April 2014 - derogation from the ban on the use of live calls. Note DGSAF prot. n. 27317 of 23 December 2014. Further information ".
