Enalcaccia expresses its position on the Casentino National Park; review the regulation and reduce its boundaries.
The National Park of the Casentinesi Forests is twenty years old and, twenty years after its establishment, the management body has well thought of proposing to citizens, trade associations and municipal administrations concerned, its own draft regulation which, if approved , will see the gap between the resident population and the protected area dramatically increase, in a general framework of widespread and prevailing skepticism. A national park that, according to Enalcaccia Arezzo, has produced, over the years, the immobilization of entire territories conceived over the centuries as rural landscapes that have always been functional to local economies and traditions: the excessive increase of ungulate species, due to the disproportionate size of the territories forbidden to hunting, has caused nothing but a strong incentive to abandon agroforestry activities both inside the protected area and in the neighboring areas, due to unsustainable damage that wild boar, deer, fallow deer and roe deer bring to agricultural production; damages that are compensated, for the areas outside the park, with the contribution of hunters registered in the ATC
Then, the increase of the wolf, with the consequent abandonment of the livestock activity. The situation, which has reached the alert level, leads to daily road accidents, in a reality in which, given the current regulations on the subject, control interventions on the redundant species are not feasible within the protected area. Not to mention the promises made over time at various levels that guaranteed the increase in tourist activities and various job opportunities linked to the unborn national park and which, after many years, have produced totally unsuccessful results. If we then think of the constraints imposed in the construction sector, we are even more convinced that the National Park was nothing more than a strong bearer of limitations to the normal activities of the resident populations, to which it did not bring any benefit.
The administrators of the National Park of the Casentinesi Forests, who over time have alternated, perhaps missed the concept that it is thanks to the essential relationship between man and nature that today we are heirs of an important heritage and a landscape of great value.; in a society in which exasperated environmentalism prevails, it seems extremely it seems that at all costs the human presence in the territory must be considered as anomalous and recent. And that this has always been the purpose is demonstrated by the draft regulation recently proposed by the Park Authority whose approach is often ideological and marries a fundamentalist line that does not reconcile with a community that has always lived in symbiosis with its naturalistic resources. .
In fact, we want to insert further and numerous constraints, bureaucratic quibbles and costs that penalize and sometimes make impossible the already complex development of the territory, as well as the life of the residents.: "Paid fishing, areas prohibited for fishing activities and reduction of fishing periods already regulated by the competent bodies such as the regions, further qualification courses for the search for truffles and areas where the collection of truffles is prohibited, transport bans of legally killed fauna, crossing the territory affected by the park, the obligation to keep dogs only in the courtyard of the house and more are unacceptable limitations, says Iacopo Piantini, Provincial President of Enalcaccia ”.
In this regard, Ennalcaccia, as early as last March, filed its observations, requesting an overall revision of the draft of the regulation, as regards the areas of expertise in hunting and harvesting of undergrowth products. We hope that the recently appointed commissioner of the Park Authority will make a valid contribution, so that the draft regulation formulated prior to this election will be reviewed in its entirety in its entirety.
Furthermore, Enalcaccia, convinced that the expected results have given negative results and having registered, in the various public assemblies recently organized by the local administrations, a state of widespread malaise among the resident populations for the problem "Park", supports the motion that provides for the reduction of the borders of the territory of the National Park of the Casentinesi Forests, which, in essence, proposes to exclude inhabited centers from the protected area, making their borders coincide with the historic state-owned forests. We believe it is the duty of the institutions to give voice to the demands of their citizens and therefore to support this initiative.
