Hunters in favor of monitoring for an indispensable study on the environmental impact that Starling causes on crops.
These days the Ligurian regional associations such as Lipu and Enpa are really short of arguments and stick to the slightest thing, to request complaints and resolutions, not to mention the environmental reality that causes problems for animal species. In fact, the aforementioned associations met to make a complaint to the Court of Auditors against the Liguria Region for having offered 48 thousand euros, to be used for monitoring the reversal.
According to the associations, which declare themselves very annoyed, this initiative does not go to safeguard the agri-food economy but was created (according to them) to satisfy a small group of disappointed hunters. In reality, the Liguria region wishes to activate this monitoring, to launch an in-depth study on the environmental impact that the Stono causes on crops.
The associations find it shameful that monitoring is started to satisfy the whims of very few Ligurian hunters. Using important resources in this way, according to Enpa and Lipu, is a real waste of money. Too bad that the leaders of these associations are not very consistent people, because if they were, they would recognize the damage caused by an incorrect protection system.
Recall that the faunal imbalances detected are the cause of an Italian protectionist reality, where the parks in which one cannot hunt, are integrated into huge reservoirs of hungry flocks where wild boars and starlings live. Why do these associations complain about the cost of 48.000 € dedicated to monitoring the transfer and not the money spent on their studies on the local fauna?
