The Federcaccia di Sant'Arpino organized the second edition of the "Hunter's Festival" for November 13, 2011.
St. Hubert, patron saint of dogs and hunters, was probably born in Toulouse around 656 and spent most of his life in Metz, where he led a wicked life. According to tradition, on a Good Friday, during a hunting trip, Uberto would have had the vision of a Crucifix placed between the horns of a deer.
This vision leads him to abandon his dissolute life to undertake the religious life. The feast of Sant'Uberto occurs on November 3, the day of the transfer of the relics from the church of San Pietro in Liège, where he was buried immediately after his death, to the abbey of Andage, in the Ardennes, in 825.
