Yesterday, Sunday 5 April 2020, Massimo Buconi - national president of the Hunting Federation - released the following message: “On this Palm Sunday with which the solemn celebration of Holy Week, in which the Church retraces the last days of Jesus' earthly life, with all his torments and human sufferings until his death and Resurrection, it comes naturally to me to address a reverent thought to the many who unfortunately have left us in recent weeks. Throughout Italy, albeit with particular ferocity in the north, the epidemic struck, leaving behind a trail of grief among our family members, relatives, friends...
Our Federation has also paid its tribute and many of our leaders, section presidents, members, hunting companions have gone ahead. Here, I particularly like this expression, typical of mountain people but which has ended up becoming di common use, because it expresses our bond with those who are no longer among us, but also the human hope, for those who believe the Christian certainty, of a bond that continues and that does not break and that with those we are dear to us we will be able to resume the common path one day.
I invite you, but I am sure there is not even the need, to join me on this day by addressing them a prayer for those who are believers, a respectful thought for those who are not. I am sure this will all end and we too will have our Easter starting to live again accompanied by their memory and inspired by their example ”.
