According to the President of Federcaccia Salerno, the Campania Region puts the hunting activity in the whole regional territory at risk.
In an interview, the President of Federcaccia Salerno, Luigi Spera, expresses his concerns about the future of hunting in Campania, saying that he is worried about the decisions that the Campania Region is taking on hunting matters.
President Spera, what are the fears?
"The art. 34 of the 2012 Finance Act and the proposed New ATC Regulation, passing through the farce of a new law that again it is not well known that it has, put the next hunting season at risk. We are talking about laws which, in addition to being illegitimate in some parts, are strongly penalizing for all migratory hunters from Campania. The damage is incalculable, both in hunting terms and in associative terms ”.
In short, do hunters continue to be seen as "enemies"?
“The Campania Region continues not to realize that hunters are honest citizens and as such they must be respected, without prevarication and abuse. It is the will of the Salerno Board of Federcaccia to give a decisive and energetic signal of the presence, in Salerno, of a compact group not willing to suffer impositions and intrusions but above all attentive to the future of hunting in Campania. The confusion is total. New rules that are not applicable due to the lack of specific regulations and unclear administrative acts end up creating only chaos and disorder. I don't think we can any longer accept that this year we have reached two months from the opening and we still do not know the "rules of the game" which from September will involve 45.000 from Campania who would like to pursue their passion: hunting ".
What are the most relevant problems?
“In addition to the usual chronic delay in the issuance of the hunting calendar, this year there have been legislative changes that not only technically distort the hunting activity but also the management of the territory. Even the Region thinks it can impose to hunters the booking of the hunting day by email or by message from the mobile phone. It is unthinkable, and we do not pretend, to go hunting as our grandparents did, who decided in the morning without any restrictions or planning, but it is equally unthinkable to think of having to carry a bag for the documents necessary for completing the bureaucratic formalities, as well as an accountant to fill them in and a surveyor to avoid trespassing in protected areas or only with different regulations ".
Is there a risk that the season will not start?
"Surely. The hunters are tired of both red tape and continuous tax increases. Go on like this, hunting in Campania risks disappearing ”.
