Federcaccia Toscana replies to the animal rights appeal of the Brambilla gang aimed at suspending the upcoming Hunting Season: But do they know what they sign?
A group of well-known people, who appears together with Brambilla under the acronym "The conscience of animals", clamored to suspend hunting, due to drought, arguing that not doing so "would be like picking up a rifle in a field of extermination".
A comparison of dubious taste to which it would be easy to reply that the very inspirer of that tragedy was a vegetarian and really loved animals very much (less, as is known, humans). In the recent activity of the Brambillian team, initiatives against the Palio of Siena or the Sagra dei osei in Sacile stand out, just to give a few examples: the common thread, a haughty refusal to recognize cultural dignity and legitimacy to the thought, passions and point of view of 'other.
The fall in style in which the promoters of the appeal against hunting incur, the comparison with the extermination camps, speaks volumes about the gentleness of approach to this as well as to other themes; wolves disguised as lambs use the weapon of environmental catastrophism, to give breath to a campaign that now repeats itself wearily at every opening of the hunting season. A bit of astonishment, however, we must admit, this time the appeal aroused him; the reason? Some of those signatures at the bottom belong to women and men whose personal history places them "the thousand miles" away from the shots of the Brambilla; they seem there by chance, ripped off by taking advantage of a moment of distraction and extorted in the name of love for animals. Generic profession of faith, noble cause which, moreover, no one would deny a signature.
In short, perhaps no one has explained to him that hunting is a serious matter, carefully regulated and firmly anchored to scientific parameters and strict controls. It is therefore capable of judging whether or not the conditions exist for it to be exercised without damage for the maintenance of biodiversity.
Otherwise, if it were a question of a conscious adhesion, it would only remain to admit a bitter defeat of reason in the face of the obscurantism of campaigns with a vague millenarian flavor. But do the predictions of the Maya or those of the magician Otelma, alongside whom the Brambilla campaigns appear at this point, really deserve the consideration of serious people?
