The provincial section of Perugia of Italian Federation of Hunting released an official note to discuss what is happening in relation to wildlife-hunting companies. In particular, the association wanted to emphasize the release of extensions of these realities by the Umbrian regional administration. As recalled by FIDC Perugia, the institutions have been requested several times for engage in discussion and involve all interested parties.
What has happened in recent times regarding the renewal, issue and extension of the concessions of the companies has been defined as “at least inappropriate”. Some private institutes were expanded shortly before the start of the hunting season in an area where the repopulation of the Territorial Areas of Hunting was already underway.
In addition, the stakeholders, primarily local administrations and communities, would not even have been properly involved. Federcaccia Perugia gives great importance to wildlife-hunting companies, as long as they are handled correctly. Therefore, a serious and in-depth discussion would be needed to get them back to carrying out the task assigned by national law and with a functional presence management of sedentary fauna.
