Food is culture. Everyone agrees on this now. From the active municipal section of Frigole (LE) here is an interesting project by "food education" which also concerns game. The president of the section, Giuseppe Del Cuore, explains: "Our project wants to include everything related to nutrition, from the problem of lack of food and water in some parts of the world due to natural disasters caused by man by sensitizing the children to respect for nature, to food education by touching on individual issues (environment, waste, solidarity, legality). The intent is to bring the children to have adequate thoughts and ideas for the development of these topics, helping them to concretize them and present them as 'food education projects' to MIUR.
It is absolutely essential, for ourselves and for the whole community that each of us is part of it, the understanding of the benefits of a healthy dietary lifestyle: knowledge of seasonality, territoriality of food products, responsible consumption, economic and social contexts, safety and legality. In this way, to encourage the new generations to prevent the most common health problems and make them aware of the various study opportunities, first at school and then at university, giving rise to intercultural exchanges to foster knowledge between students, teachers and families, for subsequent insertion into the world of work. Spread awareness of healthy eating linked to the enhancement of the territory, respecting the environment, the criteria for access to food resources and water. It is necessary to educate generations in the use and conscious consumption of increasingly healthy, safe and natural foods from the territory itself, thus helping the evolution of the natural cycle of life, safeguarding the health of man and the earth.
Even today we fight against unsustainable agriculture and food production, sometimes practiced without any respect for specific regulations. Food fraud represents a serious damage both to the economy and to human health. Italy is the homeland of food and wine traditions, it has always offered high quality food. Italy is that country where a traditional dish tells the history, culture and experience of the place it belongs to. The skilful use of ingredients respects the stable garments on which the culture of the relationship between food and territory develops, which represents an Italian value recognized in the world. For some years now on our tables and those of the restaurant, space has been given to the large supply chain, sometimes disrespectful of the current food rules. Our aim is to educate young people to the rediscovery of traditional healthy and genuine cuisine, bringing to our tables 0 km products and game, thus evoking aromas and flavors that for centuries have made the banquets of our grandparents enviable in the eyes of the whole world ".
