This morning following theunfortunate affair took place in the municipality of Lucca last week, of which we report our official statement below, we wrote a PEC to the Mayor of Lucca Alessandro Tambellini, asking the municipal administration to dissociate itself publicly from this heinous gesture.
While our lawyers are examining the possible actions to be taken against those who conceived and implemented this smear campaign against our category, we sincerely hope that the municipal administration of the City of Lucca will take measures to protect the rights not only of his hunters, but of all the Tuscan hunters who have seen that unfortunate poster bounce on Social Media. We, as honest law-abiding hunters citizens, ask the institutions not only that our rights are respected, but also that serious measures be taken so that such events cannot be repeated.
Here is our press release on the story: “CCT: THE HATRED OF ANTICACCIA! The hate campaign against hunting and hunters cyclically resurfaces in its many forms and versions. A sort of extremist radicalism that sometimes results in extreme actions, light years away from those that for us hunters, remain and will remain some of the fundamental principles of our existence such as tolerance, respect and absolute love for the democratic confrontation between cultures and different experiences. Radicalisms and intolerance, as we know, have never brought anything good as a dowry in the long and troubled history of mankind. Fanaticism and hatred, not even!
The posters that have been standing out in some areas of the city of LUCCA since yesterday, not only transmit a misleading and unacceptable message, on the legitimacy of an activity that is foreseen and strictly regulated by law. They exude contempt towards those who act and think outside the perverse schemes of those who feel pervaded by a sort of absolute and final judgment against others. The real "bloody hands" are not those of the hunters, but of those who gave birth and posted those unspeakable posters. The blood is that of law, democracy and respect that is once again outraged on the altar of fanatic and self-referential animalism. The Confederation of Tuscan Hunters invites all citizens and the Lucchesi to reflect on all this and to field a "cultural resistance" by uniting not so much with hunters but with the fundamental reasons for civil life.
