The Reggiani Tartufai Association does not like the construction of the new quaglio track in Castelnovo né Monti, in the province of Reggio Emilia.
According to the vice president of the Reggiani Tartufai Association, Roberto Ferretti, the land available where it is possible to search for the precious truffles are often "sold" in favor of hunting activities, thus making it dangerous, or even impossible as in the case of wild boar hunts, to carry out gathering of forest products in the same areas occupied by hunters.
Thus the approximately 1200 truffle hunters in the province of Reggio Emilia ask to put a stop to the subtraction of civic land in favor of hunters, favored above all by the multiplication of large-scale wildlife-hunting companies as well as the classic boar hunts which generally includes the closure to other "users of the territory", of entire valleys and often with very little notice.
The reason for the protest is in particular the question of the new intercommunal quagliodromo in Monte Zuccalone in the district of as of Castelnovo né Monti.
The Tartufai Association points the finger above all against the municipal administration that approved the construction of the new quagliodromo to be built by the RE 4 Montagna Territorial Hunting Area, demonstrating a clear interest only in the category of hunters as unique users of the territory thus excluding the other categories, including truffle hunters, despite the fact that the Province releases about fifty new cards for truffle hunting every year.
