Hunting and Safety: Genoa, the experimental course “Battuta Sicura” has started to provide practical first aid knowledge for Genoese hunters.
Over fifty Genoese take part in the first medical emergency course, organized by two Genoese ATCs in collaboration with the 118 Department and financed by the Liguria Region. The satisfaction of the President of the Health Commission Valter Ferrando: "Liguria is among the first regions in Italy to have given life to a similar project". Exercise the hunting activity in safety, knowing the emergency medical procedures to be implemented promptly in case of injury or illness. This is the purpose of the "Battuta Sicura" project, launched yesterday: it is an experimental course, destined for now to 54 hunters of the Genoese area, which aims to increase knowledge in the field of first aid. "I express, both in my role as president of the Health and Social Security Commission and as a hunter, my satisfaction for the launch of this initiative, - declares Valter Ferrando (Pd) - which arises from the effective collaboration between the Region, hunting associations, Atc and Service 118. Liguria is among the first Regions in Italy to have given life to a similar project and I sincerely thank all those who have contributed to its realization ”.
The first lesson of the course, coordinated by Sergio Caglieris, doctor of Department 118, took place yesterday in the teaching room of the same Department at the San Martino Hospital, and was conducted by expert instructors in the sector. The didactic activity is divided into three sessions, each reserved for 18 participants, for a total of 17 hours each, and aims to train among the hunters belonging to the wild boar hunting teams the subjects with the necessary technical skills to promptly recognize a health emergency and provide effective first aid in good time, especially in areas difficult to reach by emergency vehicles.
The initiative, proposed by the management bodies of the Atc (Territorial hunting areas) GE 1 Ponente and GE 2 Levante, represented by the presidents Adriano Zanni and Luigi Tiscornia, was carried out with the help of the Department of Service 118, directed by Francesco Bermano , and was co-financed by the Liguria Region through the regional law 29 of 1994, which provides for specific allocations for this sector. If this first phase of implementation is successful, the project can be extended to the entire Ligurian territory with the involvement of the other Ligurian Atc and Ca (including Alpine).
