Hunting: Bologna, the hunting season opens with a selection hunt for wild boar aimed at limiting damage to agriculture.
The wild boar opens the hunting season of selection allowed in practice for a long period (from 1 May 2014 to 31 January 2015), thus offering one more chance to avoid damage to arable land and in particular to cereal crops. The 2014-2015 hunting season begins, as usual, with the selection hunt for wild boar, which can be held starting as early as May 1st. According to the hunting calendar of the Emilia-Romagna Region and based on the management deed of the Province of Bologna, more precisely from 1 May to 30 September 2014 it will be possible to take males and females of wild boars of all classes, with the exception of adult females ( animals aged 24 months or more); from 1 October 2014 to 31 January 2015, the sample can be applied to males and females of all age groups.
The culling plan of the province of Bologna indicated a minimum contingent of 507 animals distributed between ATC BO2 with 130 animals, ATC BO3 with 250 specimens and Wildlife Hunting Companies with 127 animals. According to the provincial hunting plan, in the hilly area of the province of Bologna, where the objective to be achieved is a zero density of the species, the selection hunt for wild boar has no numerical limits in the slaughter plan.
The hunt can be carried out by subjects in possession of the title of "ungulate hunter with selective methods" and can take place for 5 days a week from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset (for times reference to the annex to Resolution no. 1234/2014). Each hunting action must be recorded - as per regional regulation - through a communication, which has become particularly fast and economical for the individual hunter thanks to the automatic system. The operation is even more secure and streamlined if the new method is used via the dedicated website. The insertion of their data and the specific indication of the hunting day and the chosen area are in fact guided by the system itself, therefore accessible even by those who are not particularly familiar with computer systems.
In accordance with current legislation, baiting for hunting purposes is prohibited. In the case of artificial baiting, letter. g) of paragraph 1 art. 60 of LR 8/94 with prohibition to practice hunting in the subject lands as well as in the surrounding 500 meters, until the groundbaits are exhausted.
