The new Hunting Calendar which will be in effect from the third Sunday of September has been presented at the headquarters of the Emilia Romagna Region.
The new Hunting Calendar was presented by the Assembly Commission for the territory and environment of the Emilia Romagna Region, the bill of which will be examined next week; all interested associations (hunting, agricultural and environmentalist) and the Provinces were present at the presentation.
The regional councilor for agriculture, Tiberio Rabboni, commented on the hearing on the new hunting calendar: "It was a fruitful meeting we will take into account all the comments that have been presented to us, we will carefully evaluate them and, where possible, we will welcome them ".
Rabboni continues, "The regional wildlife-hunting context has profoundly changed. In the last decade the resident hunters have decreased by 20% and so has the hunting pressure; at the same time, the quantity and quality of fauna biodiversity has grown and the conservation status of many problematic species has improved, as attested by the most recent ornithological studies. For this it is time to abandon the useless and unjustified contrasts. Today there are all the conditions for sustainable hunting, based on shared rules, scientific knowledge, volunteering and collaboration ”.
Rabboni proceeds explaining, "The calendar proposal comes from at online casino confrontation with hunting, agricultural and environmental associations, with the Provinces and with the Government Institute for Environmental Prevention and Research (ISPRA). The result was a balanced proposal that asks everyone to give up some in order to offer all the components a calendar that respects the laws, animal and environmental biodiversity, agriculture and hunting passion ”.
The new regional hunting calendar will be valid for three years for the period from the third Sunday of September to January 31st; Each Province will then have to conform the individual annual calendars to the regional one, making the appropriate changes according to specific local needs and particularities.
The new Hunting Calendar contains some innovations including the suspension of the hunt for the "moretta", incorporating the indications of the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, in order to reduce any risk of confusing this species with the “ferruginous duck” which is instead a protected species.
Also included in the new Hunting Calendar a ban on the use of lead ammunition in both natural and man-made wetlands and the strengthening of measures aimed at protecting agricultural activity.
The new document also provides for measures aimed at achieving the maximum density of ungulates within suitable rural areas. Finally, the summary sheets on the “hunting in derogation” according to the new Hunting Calendar will be returned by March 31st in conjunction with the delivery of the regional hunting card.
