Hunting: Lecce, hunting activity at risk due to bureaucracy; the Region does not transfer funds to the Province, putting the hunting season in Salento at risk.
Bureaucracy is also this. If the Provinces are destined to disappear, and in their place the new second-level Bodies are still not fully operational, it happens that the transfers of funds, even if established by law, can "disappear", putting the planned activity at risk . This is the case of the hunting activity, which risks being cut not by a political choice, but by the inertia of the Puglia Region, which has not yet transferred the funds allocated by law to the Provinces for the upcoming season. "Without the resources that the Puglia Region should have transferred to the Province of Lecce - underlines the regional councilor of Forza Italia Luigi Mazzei - and it is not yet known why, instead, it retains and does not pay, assuming that it still has them available, the hunting season is at risk in Salento. Important repopulations cannot be carried out, hunting territories cannot be defined, injured animals cannot be treated for use in the wildlife observatory. Yet these are funds that the Region, for two years, has taken from hunters without transferring them to the Province.
"This is why I presented a Question to President Vendola and Councilor Nardoni to find out: what are the reasons that have prevented, to date, the disbursement of funds to the Province of Lecce, necessary for the implementation of the annual intervention programs and what it means make the Regional Council to allow the normal performance of hunting and restocking activities in the Province of Lecce ".
