The IV Regional Council Commission has recently launched consultations to obtain the opinion of the provinces and of the economic and social categories on the hunting proposals adopted by the Regional Council on the initiative of the councilor Stival. These proposals concerned changes to the regional law 50/93, to the regional law n. 6/2013 and the new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan.
After the heavy criticism addressed to the regional council by the provinces and agricultural professional organizations, it was the turn of the representatives of Federcaccia and dell'Arcicaccia to try to defend the work and proposals of the councilor Stival. The hilarity of those present was aroused by the little theater staged by the representatives of Federcaccia, Arcicaccia, Liberacaccia and ANUU (the representatives of Italcaccia were absent) who, while declaring to be part of the CRAVN (Coordination of national hunting associations) being divided on everything, contradicting themselves repeatedly and sensationally on numerous occasions.
Taking the floor, Maria Cristina Caretta, the President of the Associazione Cacciatori Veneti-Confavi, definitively crushed all hope nurtured by those who wanted to defend the indefensible. In her speech, the ACV-Confavi President branded the proposed new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan as unacceptable and unamendable, defining some contents of the proposed amendments to regional law 50/93 as the sugar used by the Regional Council, at the suggestion of the hunting managers of the CRAVN, to make Veneto hunters swallow a series of restrictions and penalties that the hunting world certainly does not need.
The Hon. Sergio Berlato who illustrated to the members of the IV Regional Council Commission and to all those present the technical arguments that led to consider the proposals of the Executive in the field of hunting as not worthy of any attempt at improvement and therefore to be totally rejected to the sender. If the Region intends to continue in its contestable initiatives - concluded the Hon. Sergio Berlato - we are ready to mobilize the hunters of the Veneto and bring them to Venice to show all their dissatisfaction with the way hunting in Veneto has been treated in the last five years.
At the end of the interventions, the Associazione Cacciatori Veneti-Confavi and the Associazione Enalcaccia filed a jointly signed document in the Region with which the two hunting associations shared the negative evaluations on the contents of the proposals of the Regional Council, asking the Commission and the Regional Council to reject them to the sender without any hesitation.
