La Regional Council of Campania approved the draft law for the adaptation and modification of the regional law n. 26 of 9 August 2012, which governs the protection of the wildlife and hunting activity. The revision of the legislation was made necessary following the reallocation to the Regions of the competences regarding the protection of wildlife and hunting previously carried out by the provincial administrations. “The revision - declares Franco Alfieri, head of the secretariat of President De Luca - is the result of a path shared with hunting and environmental associations and agricultural professional organizations and finally makes the legislation consistent with the new tasks assigned to the Region concerning the administrative management of the hunting activity and all authorization and concession procedures ".

"In particular - underlines Alfieri - we have put a hand to some institutes both to adapt them to EU and jurisprudential guidelines and to respond to the needs of the operators of the hunting sector in terms of dog training and dog trials and, above all, of compensation for damage caused by wildlife, in whose discipline we have introduced the de minimis regime and rearranged the relative assessment bodies ".
“We have strengthened - adds Alfieri - the role of the management bodies of Territorial Areas of Hunting (ATC), to ensure its effective and correct functioning, and of hunting associations, with a view to horizontal subsidiarity in the management of hunting and wildlife protection activities ".
