PROHIBITION OF THE USE OF LIVE AQUATIC RECALLS IN MANTUA: IMMEDIATE INTERVENTION OF THE ANUUMIGRATORISTI
Having learned of the sudden ban on the use of live calls of Anseriformes and Caradriformes introduced by the Province of Mantua, the regional ANUUMigratorists of Lombardy, in agreement with the ANUU Provincial Presidency of Mantua, immediately sent to the Provincial Hunting and Fishing Service (and in copy to the Region) a note requesting the revocation of a similar, unjustified restriction. As stated in this letter from the ANUU "it is requested to cancel this prohibition since, since last June 15, the Lombardy Region,
DG Agriculture, had communicated via fax to all the Lombard Provinces that "after hearing the General Health Management, pending the publication of a specific ministerial order in the process of being approved, it is communicated that the Ministry of Health intends to extend the derogation from the ban on the use of living belonging to the orders of the Anseriforms and the Charadriforms and related obligations ".
Furthermore, as the regional ANUU reports in its communication to the Province "the same note from the Region concluded as follows:" the health measures already adopted in past hunting seasons are therefore confirmed for the 2010/2011 hunting season ": that is, the use of calls live ducks and lapwing with numbered bands affixed to the tarsus of each subject, issued by the Province of residence of the requesting hunter, with simultaneous registration of a special paper self-declaration and subsequent insertion of all these data in the specific computer database of the Regional Health DG ".
A procedure certainly not streamlined, but which in any case, for two consecutive hunting seasons, has made it possible to reintroduce live calls in stalking aquatic hunting, a practice for which the support of the live call is almost necessary. Now, since the expression "pending" can be translated as "waiting for", the only reference to keep in mind is that of confirming the possibility of using these references as communicated by the Region, which is, moreover, a priority interlocutor of the Provinces who do not they interface directly with the Ministries. So much so that, it is emphasized, no other of the eleven Lombard provinces has issued such a ban, as the letter reminded the "inattentive" provincial officials.
We are now waiting for the Province to accept the request to withdraw from its intent, also because it is a long time that the hunters no longer pay consequences for an exclusively media alarm like the one that went crazy in 2005 about the H5N1 virus, when it seemed that from one day to the else the entire world population would have been affected by avian flu. Stop discrimination!
