Hunting: Marche, Hunting Calendar 2013/14 approved by the Regional Council; the Hunting Season begins pre-opening on September 1st.
The Regional Council approved the 2013/2014 hunting calendar. The hunting season begins on September 1st with the first of the three pre-opening days (while the general opening is on September 15th) and will end on February 9th next year. The provision identifies the species that can be taken, the periods and days in which hunting is allowed, the game boxes, the legal time of the beginning and end of the hunting day, the periods and methods of training the dogs. The opinions of the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (Ispra), the Regional Wildlife Observatory (Ofr) were acquired, as well as the indications that emerged from the consultations with the provincial administrations, the territorial hunting areas (Atc), the Regional hunting associations. “With the consultations carried out - affirms the councilor for hunting, Paola Giorgi - we have understood the different needs of the components that interact in the management of the hunting activity, including the representatives of the agricultural and environmental world, present in the management committees of the Atc. The resulting overall arrangement allows to combine the requests for environmental wildlife protection with a balanced and responsible hunting exercise on the part of hunters. Hunting activity conducted with prudence, respecting the rules, finds precise discipline in the approved calendar also for the 2013/2014 season".
Among the various provisions envisaged, the commissioner highlights the safeguards that the calendar reserves for Special Protection Areas and Sites of Community Importance of the Natura 2000 Network. Among the novelties, however, he points out the legislative change that allows, for the first time, the extension of the hunting collection for corvids until February 9, 2014. "The activity of the Department - he assures - will be aimed at improving the wildlife management of the territory, in synergy and collaboration with all the categories concerned". The calendar for the 2013/2014 season basically follows that of the previous year, except for an extension of the hunting of corvids (hooded crow, jay and magpie), allowed only in the form of the stalking, on some days of the month of February (1- 2-5-8-9).
In summary, the main contents that will govern the activity:
• 3 days in pre-opening in September (1 - 4 - 8) in the form of a posting only, with hours 5,30 - 11,00 and 17,00 - 19,30 to the following species: turtledove, wood pigeon, jay, magpie, hooded crow, teal, mallard and garganey;
• general opening of hunting, Sunday 15 September, for sedentary game and other species, with differentiated closures and in any case within the legal deadline of January 31, 2014 and limited daily and seasonal game bags for all species, with particular prudential attention for some, such as quail, lark, lapwing, codon;
• for sedentary game (hare, pheasant, gray partridge, wild rabbit) harvest deadline on 1 December, allowed only on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays with a limitation of items;
• for the rock partridge, beginning 5 October and ending 24 November;
• for wild boar, beginning 13 October and ending 12 January 2014 in the forms of hunted, shot, individual and occasional;
• for the selective collection of wild boar, the same was governed by the Regional Council Resolution no. 691 of 13/05/2013.
Also this year the calendar allows the hunting of migratory game from stalking for another two days a week, again with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays, in the months of October and November. The calendar also contains the periods and days in which the training and training of dogs is allowed, both in the summer period (from mid-August) and at the end of the hunting season for the months of February and March; for the latter period, in agreement with the provincial administrations and the territorial hunting areas.
