Hunting on the promontory of Piombino (LI) with fixed positions, perhaps even more than before. Then the collection of signatures of citizens to outlaw the rifles, the possibility of expropriation of private areas by the Municipality (without changing anything in the management) e Free Hunt which is said to be at the forefront of the "care and defense" of this protected natural area of local interest (Anpil).
It is the vice president of WWF Livorno, Stefano Gualerci who replies to Alessandro Fulcheris (Libera Hunting ed): “Our partner Paolo Maria Politi expressed his thoughts, as specified in the article, therefore it is foolish to make him pass for a guru. The WWF Livorno - he says - is made up of a few but motivated volunteers, who try to pursue and follow various environmental issues, including hunting pressure, as you could see if you wanted to visit us in one of the Livorno Oases ".
"It is necessary - adds Gualerci - to give voice to those of our association even now who are around the Val di Cornia to recover the injured fauna, to those who take care of maintenance in the Oasis, to those who provide environmental education to children and adults having the skills and the qualifications ".
"What concerns the promontory - explains Gualerci - is a situation that at the moment must be kept under control, because when the law disappears even the weak protections, see Anpil, it is necessary to ensure that the crafty ones do not take advantage of it for their own gains".
“In the Statute of WWF Italy - confirms the president of Livorno - there is no article that says that our association is always right: only stupid people always claim to have it. But of one thing I am strongly convinced. Since I was a child I have heard the litany "we hunters are the true protectors of the environment" ... I come from a family where hunting is anything but unknown. But with the curiosity of the teenager I walked around the woods, including the promontory, and I don't think that order reigns ”.
“Do you want to argue that on the promontory there are no huts or anything else illegal? - Gualerci lists - And how do we put it with the "junk" abandoned in the woods and the burning of cartridge cases? How many colleagues have you confronted with their abuses and sued for it? And the pantomime of the collection of signatures? I live in an area with a strong vocation for "poaching" and I can guarantee that this is not the legality that I want to teach my daughter! I have also known honest hunters, because it is honest who respects the laws, and understands their importance, thus having the opportunity to criticize the unjust ones. They were often the first to criticize certain "border-line" behaviors in the hunting world. And don't play the victims if someone points out the “historical” link that reigns in Tuscany between the hunting world and (lower) politics ”.
“Do you want to argue that the work of the ATC is exempt from this situation? When are the representatives of the hunting associations also municipal councilors or other? Honesty please, honesty; then everyone will respond to their own conscience. We are not interested in sterile polemics, but remember Alessandro Fulcheris that the WWF does not have a name and a surname, but - he underlines - is made up of a plurality of people who can also make mistakes, but are certainly "free thinkers".
