As already announced in conjunction with the short extension obtained by the Sardinian hunters who took to the streets, the united environmental associations present a criminal action against the abuses inherent in hunting in Sardinia.
New action by associations against hunting abuses in Sardinia. The lawyers of Enpa, Lac, Lav, Legambiente, LIPU BirdLife Italia and WWF Italia have filed a criminal complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Cagliari following the illegal changes made to the hunting calendar by the councilor Giorgio Oppi and the regional technical committee in total disregard of the sentence of the Council of State.
"The criminal complaint presented by the associations is a necessary act given the serious responsibilities of those in the public administration who have allowed yet another illegitimate act in terms of hunting, authorizing the killing of thousands of wild animals, causing irreparable damage to the heritage public and opening the doors to yet another infringement procedure by the European Union ”declared the associations Enpa, Lac, Lav, Legambiente, LIPU BirdLife Italia and WWF Italia.
"After the countless infringement procedures opened by the European Union against Italy in the matter of hunting, the sentences of the Regional Administrative Courts that have repeatedly condemned the regional administrations for their bad work on hunting calendars and derogations, the further level of condemnation by the Council of State confirming the issuance of illegitimate acts and the convictions of the European Court of Justice is simply a duty and a high civic sense to undertake to make those politicians and regional managers pay directly who, thinking not to have to pay any price personally, they have done and continue to wreak havoc on the law, allowing the destruction of the natural heritage and making Italians put their hands in their pockets by the European Union ”continue the associations.
"In this phase of serious crisis in the country, these illegalities perpetrated by representatives of the institutions are, if possible, even more hateful for which the associations Enpa, Lac, Lav, Legambiente, LIPU BirdLife Italia and WWF Italia feel the duty to oppose them firmly and to call to pay directly those subjects who, in order to illegally favor private interests, cause very serious damage to citizens, animals and nature ".
