The Regional Hunting Calendar valid for the 2012/2013 Hunting Season has been definitively approved by the Umbrian Regional Council.
In recent days, the Regional Council of Umbria has definitively approved the new Hunting Calendar for the next Hunting Season 2012/2013 including the observations made during the final evaluation by the III Council Commission.
According to the new management document, the pre-opening of the hunt is scheduled for the days of 1 and 2 September only with the modalities of stalking the wood pigeon species (outside the wooded areas), turtledove, blackbird, hooded crow, jay and magpie while the effective opening for the hunting season and therefore for the hunting of all other huntable species is scheduled for 16 September; the opening of the boar hunt is set for 30 September.
Unlike the first draft calendar assessed by the Council Commission, the hare hunt was extended for a further 4 days, setting its closure on 16 December; moreover, the collection of the pheasant species in the hunting faunal farms was also granted in the month of January.
The next step to formalize the new Umbrian Hunting Calendar is the publication of the document in the Bulletin of the Region; the official start of the new Hunting Season is expected as early as June 16 relative to the selection hunt for ungulates.
